Lunch on the beach (sort of)

A loely sandy bar in the courtyard at Guy's on the South Bank. Delicious paella from the farmers' market. Spoilt.

Getting back to normal and back to London

Although I'm still having the occasional 'down', the 'ups' are winning and this week I made it back onto the train and into London. Snacks in my pocket and I'm good to go!

Weapons of Mass Creation

After a small (well, tiny) win on the lottery this weekend, I treated myself to this bit of inspiration for above my desk. Mass creation has to be a good thing and it's what I strive to do every day. Now I have no excuse for forgetting it!

Awaiting 'The Dreaming Room'

Image
Only a week to go before the new Laura Mvula album is released. The sampler is a tantalising hint of the musical beauty on its way. I was late coming to 'Sing to the Moon', her 2012 album which only reached me in 2014. She's a truly amazing singer and her January 2016 single 'Overcome' featuring Nile Rodgers gave a taste of where she's at now. Can't wait to hear more than snippets of 'The Dreaming Room'.

Lessons I'm still learning: number 1

Write from the heart and edit with the head. I wish I could remember who first told me that. It's something I've always aimed at, but not always succeeded. Now it's a mantra to work by. Every time. I'm far from perfect, but it might be a way to come closer.
